PHILOSOPY SONNET

darling, we are the measure of all things
yet this will never be the world you dreamed.
trade not pleasures for pleasures, pains for pains
and know that beauty neither hears nor sees.

and those who die eagerly, stretching wings:
they will sing most and most beautifully.
cry not for sorrow, cast off mortal chains,
believe our souls will once again be freed.

believe more than knowledge; wisdom's cruel sting
reminds us that we may never be clean.
yet through all this turmoil, each of these stains-
remember that all is not what it seems.

remember, darling, while gazing at stars
we will never be what we never are.

CLOWNS LIKE US

Paint your sad face
colours of happy days

Let's dance
to the black parade

Wanna be a star
in this masquerade

No one sees your tears
no one feels your fears

Let them think you're funny
amusing, always sunny

just one more stupid joke
you feel like you choke

Has anyone seen you
without a mask?

Now there's a task

Just let someone through

Let someone see
the real you

someone who
is true to you

HUMAN'S HUMANITY

Humans are cruel.
Humans are killers.
Before guns it was knives
Before that it was stones
Invasions, burning homes,
Stealing lives and loves
The world is a horrid place
So they seem to think
To make us fear each other
Hate the very things
The very things that make life
Beautiful
We should see them as bad
So they say to listen
So they say us to live
So they say us to follow
Only for gain

Then die
Just forget
Only forget
And remember and repeat
Humans are good.
Humans are kind.
They live, love and laugh
They have the gift of hope
Helping them all to cope
Through evil human things
Sowing seeds and
Sewing angel wings.

Humans are strange.
Humans are incomplete.

The world is wonderful place
Full of kinds of fantastic people
Be deaf to the endless lies
The unending hatred
Spewing from your tv
Good people are good people
Nothing else matters
Some people are gay
Some people are straight
Some people are both
Some people are good
Some people are bad
Most people are both
People are people
And people don't deserve to be hated
To be discriminated
To be abused

It is time to embrace love
To embrace people for what they are
Human and humanity
We are human, after all
So what else matters?

WAR IN HEAVEN

You couldn′t see anything because your eyes were wild with terror
You weren′t conscious about anything but your body which was dropping down to a lower level
And I stood horrorstruck
While gazing for hours into space, the abyss facing me is hundreds of metres deep
And I would fain follow you but I guess to be afraid.
You fell into the heart of darkness, where everything has to be unknown
There was no need for you to realize which way east was,
No need to understand you were coming from the north
′Cause all things are the same when shadows rise and there′s no sun,
No sun to worship as a god.
You were thrown down to the surface of the earth
And pressed against the ground
Your ruin stemmed
From the revolution you′d begun, from the pride you always showed
But did somebody check your back? Perhaps you
Still
Carry wings.
(I got inspired by Dante’s Inferno (the Italian word for “hell”) which is, according to me, one of the most beautiful Italian poems! ^^ I thought about Lucifer and the fallen angels: they rebelled against God and were banished from Heaven!)

WELL KNOWN SIN; SUICIDE

Suicide... they call it sin
They say it is a death in which no-one wins...

They encourage you not to do it, they say it is wrong...
But who is there to encourage you when you can't be strong.

You feel like you have no-one, not even a friend.
No shoulder to cry on, just one last letter to send.
It’s the cowards way out,
But I’m so tired of being strong.
It’s hard living everyday,
Wanting only to break down.

It’s a sin says mom,
It’s an illness says dad.
And my little baby brother,
Can’t help but give a frown.

I want to be perfect,
Someone people like.
But I’m such a tangled mess,
That can’t do anything right.

Pills will fix the problem,
Says my best friend one day.
But I wonder if she knows
What I think of every night.

I don’t have marks on my arms,
And I haven’t tried a million times.
But I look at every knife and ledge,
And lake wanting to drown.
